According to some rumors, this model will replace the Ford Edge for the North American market. Both vehicles will get a similar platform and will share many things in common.
Engine Options
The 2025 Ford Escape offers four engine options. The first drivetrain option is a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline unit. This drivetrain can produce 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. The 1.5-liter comes as standard for the S, SE, and SEL versions.
Also, this engine includes a cylinder-deactivation program, that will run on two cylinders and improve fuel economy numbers. The FWD is a standard option on the 1.5-liter, PHEV, and hybrid. The AWD will be available for the 2.0-liter gasoline variants, and optional for the 1.5-liter and hybrid models.
Ford Escape Hybrid and PHEV
The two earlier mentioned powerplants, the 2025 Ford Escape will offer hybrid gasoline-electric setup (HEV), and a plug-in gasoline-electric system (PHEV). The HEV uses a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gas engine, with a 1.1 kWh electric motor. The setup is able to produce 198 hp, and it’s ready for use in the SE Sport and Escape Titanium.
The PHEV combines the 2.5-liter gas mill and 14.4-kWh electric motor, for a total output of 209 hp. This powertrain comes with SE, SEL, and Titanium trims.
