At this point, some things are already familiar. Canyon pickup will continue with good sales and it is basically a more luxury variant of the Chevy Colorado model. Two models are sharing the same platform and much more.
Canyon is a more premium model that is hard to compete with. GM will introduce exterior redesign and the interior will probably gain updates in terms of technology. Under the hood, Canyon continues with the same V6 engine. The price will slightly increase and the sales will begin later next year.
2025 GMC Canyon Specs, Towing Capacity
The upcoming 2025 GMC Canyon will continue to offer the same engine lineup. Everything starts with the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horses. This engine comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 3.6-liter V6 is optional if you want more power. This gasoline engine generates up to 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, an eight-speed automatic transmission is available.
We expect to see improved fuel efficiency, but we don’t expect significant improvements. New powertrain is not on the cards, despite numerous speculations regarding the hybrid powertrain. Canyon can tow up to 7,700 pounds thanks to its 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine This powertrain delivers 181 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque.
2025 Canyon Redesign
The forthcoming 2025 GMC Canyon is a premium mid-size pickup truck. It comes with a very handsome look and recognizable design. The 2025MY will introduce a new front fascia that looks closer to the front part of the GMC Sierra model. The appearance is more rugged and the grille is brand-new. Generally, the front section looks sculpted and definitely more stylish.
GM will also add new LED running lights, new flared fenders, and the side profile will look more muscular. We like new 20-inch wheels that will be optional and a new polished exhaust tip. Canyon comes with solid off-road ability butt its AT4 trim is the right choice. It is a more rugged variant that offers more ground clearance and plenty of off-road equipment.
Interior Details
The interior won’t host such drastic upgrades. The cabin design of the 2025 GMC Canyon will remain. Moreover, the interior layout will carry over as well. The 2025MY will gain more upright materials and more high-tech amenities. That includes new standard upholstery and an updated infotainment system.
The current model is available with a 7-inch touchscreen and the new model could gain a larger display. This is just one of the rumors we read. New driver-assistance aids will surely happen, but most of the novelties will be optional in the base trim level. On the other hand, these features will be standard in upper trim levels.
2025 GMC Canyon Price, Release Date
The price of the all-new 2025 GMC Canyon will start at around $26,500. The price is not official yet, but we expect a small price increase for 2025MY. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021, probably in the fall.
